UP NEXT: The Chicago Performance Lab

The Syndicate has been invited to be part of this summer's Chicago Performance Lab at the University of Chicago. We'll be there from August 3-21, 2015 to plan our second season, finish Civility!, and begin work on a brand new project. Please follow us on Facebook for updates and check out our fundraising video below!

About the Chicago Performance Lab:

The Chicago Performance Lab (formerly Summer Inc.) began out of a desire to extend Theater and Performance Studies (TAPS)’s nurturing environment to Chicago’s professional performance community. Recognizing the importance of hospitality, particularly in a moment when the arts are faced with acute economic challenges, when basic expenses make the creation of new work more of a conceptual wish than a pragmatic reality, Chicago Performance Lab invites companies into our artistic home. Selected groups represent the city’s boldness in its artistic approaches which has been demonstrated through projects of solo performance, clown adaptations, dance, and multi-media work. All of the new work developed reflected the University’s commitment to interdisciplinary collaborations.  Past work developed in residency includes Sean Graney's All Our Tragic, The New Colony's ReWilding Genius, Manual Cinema's Lula Del Ray, and two productions based on Moby Dick by The House Theater and Lookingglass Theatre Company.
