Long Distance is The Syndicate’s open-source play. “Open source” usually refers to software: it means that the software’s code is free, and anyone who wants to reshape, edit, and reuse elements of the code can do so. Long Distance is a play made up of disparate elements that can be recycled and edited into a new play whenever it is performed. This structure allows us to collaborate with each other from anywhere in the world. The point is not to make something highly polished , but to create a totally ephemeral evening that allows us to mess around and try new ways of working together.
